DX08 Carbon Fiber - 25.8lbs Ultra Remote Controlled Lightweight Electric Wheelchair

Everything we looked for in an electric wheelchair. My wife loves it. She no longer has to sit in truck while I go into stores. Easy to maneuver and get into and out of tight spots. Light weight for lifting into back of truck.

I would give the chair 5 stars except for one detail. that I think could probably get fixed on future models. the leg rests do not fold in (out) they stay permanently out makes it more slightly to attach reattache every day. so far the chair is running great.

This chair is very helpful because of it's weight. But it does have issues with the back wheels being quite slippery. This means it tend to skid down ramps and has trouble going in reverse. I am heavy so that's not the issue. Should be stopping in it's tracks when needed and the wheels do stop but they literally slide while stopped down the ramp that all my other chairs handle with ease. I do not know if it is a center of balance issue or the tires but I am here hoping to get tires for it with more grip. If you are going to use it on flat surfaces, like stores and dr appointments or at home it's fine. But for getting out and going around, do be careful.
Also some have mentioned that the footrests are too high. I totally agree. I found that putting a 2 inch firm seat cushion on the top raised my knees enough to be helpful.
Essentially it is what it is. Don't expect a chair this lightweight with only 300 wts of motor to climb hills or manage terrain. This is a good one for around the house or to leave in the car for shopping, etc.

I’m tall and have had both knees replaced. It’s a little hard for me to bend my knees for the footrest. The wheelchair is what I wanted., t folds up small and is light weight. Makes this wheelchair very easy to load in the car. The battery is very good and long lasting.

My son said I should get a motorized wheelchair for my Parkinson’s because I never get out of the house to socialize. My ability to get around is terrible. So far I love it

IT'S GREAT BUT A BIT SLOWER THAN I LIKE. ON MY FIRST BUSE WISH IT HAD A BIT MORE SPEED.

I bought it for my mom. She likes how sharp it turns. My uncle likes how light it is. He is the one putting in the back of the car. My mom likes how easy it is for her to fold it up to put it in the back of the car.

We are having a little trouble with stability of the chair as she gets in and out of it, with the breaks being only in the back. She has fallen a couple time as she transfers in and out of the chair.

It’s just what I needed. Light enough for me to load it into my Honda CRV. I’m a 130 lb 80 years old and I can load it. Woohoo

I did a lot of research in looking for a lightweight wheelchair. This is the best option I found. Upon receiving the chair, it was easy to get it road ready; it took a couple minutes to figure out what I needed to do to personalize it for me. This wheelchair changed my life. Im only 49 and having the ability to get around with ease was huge. I'm able to lift it on my own and get in my vehicle. It gave me independence. Before I always had to wait for assistance to get in and out of a vehicle. I was very dependent on others. I got this chair a month before I had to move apartments. I would not have been able to help as much as I was able to with this wheelchair. I was able to carry and move things. In the standard Medicare wheelchair, I would not have been able to. This chair has allowed me to be way more independent and for the first time after my car accident, I was able to live in my own place, by myself. I can't say enough good things about this wheelchair. The only downside I have experienced is taking it up a rock driveway on a hill. It's not the most comfortable and coming down the hill I felt as though I was going to fall out. I had to take it slow. You just have to figure out the speed at which you are most comfortable with in different situations. I have taken this chair into many trying situations, and it works wonderfully.. I get more compliments about this wheelchair, people want to know where did I find it, how do I get one. It's a very impressive vehicle. I could probably be a very successful salesman for Kerdom. This is the best thing you can buy for yourself and your caretaker. It's worth every penny.

I am enjoying and thankful for this chair. I am a small woman who needs a lot of padding any place I sit. This chair is large enough to allow for that. My husband who has his own physical disabilities is able to lift this into our SUV with no problem. The batteries are easy to remove and install. It has more power than I need. I do feel that the joy stick is extremely sensitive but that just may be me.

I love everything about it, except for the tip wheels are too low and don't allow me to go backwards down a curb safely.

The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that when in an elevator parked forward, and needing to back out it has trouble with the floor joints of the elevator.

It’s nice to have this freedom since outside the house I only used a transport chair and now I have all this control! And it being so lightweight relieves me of the guilt I’d feel as the person taking me to and there has to load and unload again and again. BUT I was disappointed when I went slightly off the sidewalk into the grass and I was stuck. It couldn’t go over the less than an inch. I’ve only drove 2x as of this writing.

Ordered as a Christmas gift for my adult son. He has a folding power chair that is supposed to weigh 60 lbs. and be easy to lift into a car. Wrong! I cannot lift this cumbersome beast and neither can he. We are looking forward to using the DXO8 lightweight chair to be able to travel and for everyday use. He is now excited to get his drivers license hand control endorsement to regain his independence and not have “Mom” be with him to get the ramps out to unload the previous beast chair!

It’s weird to say a wheelchair is 'cool', but this one is. I've had strangers at the mall ask me if it's custom-made because of the carbon fiber weave. It makes me feel less self-conscious about my mobility issues. It’s quiet, smooth, and looks premium. Best purchase I've made this year.

Bought this for my father who refuses to admit he needs a wheelchair. He loves that it looks 'techy' and modern, rather than like a piece of hospital equipment. The black finish is sharp. He's able to control the speed easily, and the fact that he can charge the battery without taking the whole chair inside is a huge plus for him.

I live in a hilly area (San Francisco). My biggest fear was rolling backward. The electromagnetic braking system on the DX08 stops the chair instantly when I let go of the joystick. It holds position on inclines very well. It gives me a lot of confidence going down ramps. Just remember to use the seatbelt!

I have a heavy-duty Pride Mobility chair for home, but I bought this Kerdom for weekends. Is it as comfortable as my big chair? No. But can I put it in my car seat? Yes. I compared this against the Rubicon DX04, and the Kerdom DX08 felt slightly more rigid and less 'rattly' during the test drive. It's a trade-off: you lose some plushness, but you gain freedom.

The wheelchair itself is fantastic—5 stars for the product. However, the box arrived pretty banged up by FedEx. Thankfully, the chair was well-padded inside and didn't have a scratch. Setup was a breeze, literally just unfolding it. Just wish the shipping carrier was more careful with such an expensive item.

I rely on Uber to get around the city. With my old scooter, drivers would roll their eyes or even cancel because it was too heavy to lift. With the DX08, I just fold it up and they can toss it into the trunk of a Prius or a Camry with one hand. It has completely removed the anxiety from my daily commute. The carbon fiber frame takes the bumps of city sidewalks surprisingly well, too.

I was worried that a small battery (to keep weight down) would mean short range. I took this to Disney World and managed to get through about 7 hours of intermittent use on a single charge before the bars got low. Charging is fast, usually takes about 4 hours to top up completely. For a travel chair, the range is impressive.

This is an emotional one for me. Before this chair, my family always had to help me pack up my gear. Now, with the DX08, I can fold it, I can lift it, and I can charge it. It has given me a sense of autonomy I haven't had in years. Highly recommended.
